Canadian police arrested one of the most high-profile leaders of the Freedom Convoy on Thursday afternoon, hours after Ottawa police warned protesters that they had to move their trucks from the center of the capital.
Chris Barber is being held in custody and is expected to face criminal charges, CBC reported.
Barber, a truck driver who led the Saskatchewan portion of the protest convoy that has been in Ottawa for the last three weeks, was walking down the street with several friends when police detained him.

One silver lining: At least it's becoming clear which parties are prone to tyranny and which are not. At least to those Canadians who even care.
You have to question why Trudeau would lock these people up?
Is he not scared, because as a group they have an insignificant amount of votes?
They could be a nucleus around which movement will grow much like a speck is to a chemicals in a solution to crystalize or a grit causes a clam to form a pearl.
Maybe the financial fines are meant to ruin people, so people never question authoritarian Trudeau again? Sort of like a Uighur solution but with a velvet glove. If you put them in dire poverty it is not the same as a Uighur work camp where Uighurs die. There is an extra step, a cutout, so their moral reputation is unstained at least according a modern day Pharisees.
IMO Trudeau would like to copy the work camps exactly, but he dare not go there yet. Maybe in five years.

A free speech zone is anathema, but in the short term it could be a solution.
In a zone number opposing a policy(ies) could attempt to persuade and let their numbers and cause be known.
A free speech zone could be tailored in an attempt to hamstring or destroy a movement.
It is apparent that any procedure can be violated in spirit and thus be made irrelevant we have seen it time and again.
What we have seen is that the Left hates non-Leftists from communicating among themselves or with others. They also d not want others and the opposition to know there are like- minded individual or be able to know their own numbers. It is why they went go after talk radio for the last 30 years.
