Protesters and supporters gather in Windsor, Ontario on Friday night - defying an order to clear the bridge between Canada and the U.S. by 7pm, and setting themselves up for a potential showdown with police
* Biden and Trudeau spoke directly on Friday regarding the Freedom Convoy blockades at the border
* 'President Biden and I both agreed that...these blockades cannot continue,' said Trudeau
* White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that Trudeau had promised 'quick action'
* Police are now reportedly massing in huge numbers in Windsor, Ontario by Ambassador Bridge
* Trudeau said that the use of military force was a last resort but that 'everything is on the table'
* On Friday protesters claimed to be opening a lane of the bridge but police said this was false
* Conservative Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Friday declared a state of emergency, threatening fines and jail
* US group 'Convoy to Save America' is launching convoys from Nashville and New York City this weekend
Protesters blocking the Ambassador Bridge on Friday night decided to defy a deadline of 7pm to clear the route, setting themselves up for a showdown with police after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that 'everything is on the table' to end the Freedom Convoy demonstrations after speaking directly with President Joe Biden.
A Canadian court on Friday issued the injunction to end the blockade at the key bridge connecting Windsor, Ontario with Detroit, setting up a potential showdown between police and protesters when the 7pm deadline arrives.
Ontario Superior Court Chief Justice Geoffrey Morawetz granted the injunction on Friday evening, which will last for 10 days and means that blocking the bridge is unlawful.

Update #2: Trudeau says ‘everything’ on the table to end blockades, warns of potential violence (Global News)
WNU Editor: For the past two weeks Canadian politicians have been labeling these protestors as a small fringe group. But to impose all of these draconian measures while openly threatening the use of massive force to end these protests tells me that they are very afraid of them, and that this is not a small "fringe group". And to make it worse. These peaceful protests and blockades are spreading and growing.
When governments are faced with peaceful protesters who are determined to stand their guard, they are powerless. Violence becomes their solution to end it. That is why I predict the massive use of law enforcement in the coming day or two to end these protests and blockades.
But I do not think it is going to end well for the government. There will be a public backlash, and more protests in other parts of Canada.

I do not like the border crossing protests due to the fascist reaction coming from government, BUT I SUPPORT THEM.
Simply by showing up to Ottawa and being told in so many words by the ruling elite to "FUCK OFF", what choice did they have, but to expand?
White collar type and especially white collar government types can telecommute. The COVID restriction do not hinder or hurt them. In all actuality it helps them. As the JV team they can look serious and adult with their COVID COSPLAY.
They can telecommute and the government type are guaranteed a paycheck. There is no risk for them. Elections are not a risk most of the time for the ruling elite. At least not in the US where incumbents win 90% of the time.
COVID has a very low case fatality rate, and event there deaths seem predicated on hypertension, diabetes, cancer or obesity. The restrictions are not worth it, If it were
ebola I would say yes, but not for COPVID.
So IMO it is a government power grab.
Well said. There's very little to add. As a Certified Public Accountant, I can telecommute or as we put it "work from home." In my younger days, I worked in the hospitality industry and still have friends in this industry. What was done to them and for no good reason other than a government power grab is deeply personal to me and it will NEVER be forgotten!!
Not only were the restrictions not worth it but we will be dealing with the fall out from them for decades to come. At best, they were an unforced error with the primary beneficiaries being our primary adversaries of Russia and China. As I say "were," a number of "red state" leaders in the US recognized the folly of the restrictions early on and backed away while those in "blue states" doubled down.
A key difference being the red state leaders have some degree of concern about the welfare of those they claim to represent. Blue states, not so much. Definitely a power grab in my considered opinion.
While it worked well in the short-term, it strengthened both Russia and China. Now our leadership class feels the need to go to war with both of them!!! Obviously our leadership class shouldn't play strategy games. Both their tactics and strategy are atrocious and to make matters worse they endanger all of our lives!!
Could the rumours about Trudeau being Castros boy are true? He certainly acts like a commie. Keep ducking 🙈
The silent majority see these truckers as a nuisance tin hat brigade. FFS arrest them.
I don't think so fazman.
Oh look, the manbabies went to Mcdonald's.
Fazman is RIGHT!
Trial Trudeau, and then do what you do with traitors and tyrants and thieves
Fazman always believed the COVID hokum. Yes, the virus is real, but Fazman has never looked at the case fatality rate, underlying comorbidities, etc.
Fazman is like a grown man, who picks a new car out based on its color alone.
assholes attack Fazman. as usual. the virus is real. yep. and those deaths are unvaccinated in nearly all cases except for those with already serious medical conditions before contracting. But go ahead, stay unvaccinated and get ill. learn it on your body

Another Frederick R Lapides glibly using adjectives when he should be using statistics citing studies and re-evaluating past studies when new studies come out.
I knew a guy with a sociology degree. Real nice guy. He could not get a job with a sociology degree, so he worked as a painter, which made no money. You have to be bonded as a painter, since the state regulates it. So you work for a bonded painter and get paid peanuts. So another case of state regulations making people poor.
He also worked as a security guard. Needless to say he was not starving, but merely treading water. So he signed up for a masters program in STEM and just barely made below 3.0. He didn't get the MS.
Why am I being this up. Because I admire the guy for being honest and hardworking. I use him by means of comparison.
"The latest data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) suggests that the proportion of unvaccinated Covid-19 cases being admitted after presenting to emergency care within 28 days of a positive test in England is now about 35%"
Wow 35% versus "nearly all"
Does Lapides not have a dictionary or does he think he is better than Daniel Webster?
I quoted official stats (UKHSA). which contradicted the qualifiers your loose tongue unleashed upon the world like a plague ( in nearly all cases ).
With coroner labeling a death by motorcyclist as a COVID death many stats simply cannot be trusted.
Man who died in motorcycle crash counted as COVID-19 death in Florida: Report
https://cbs12.com/news/local/man-who-died-in-motorcycle-crash-counted-as-covid-19-death-in-florida-report
When confronted the coroner would not back down.
So yeah there is not a lot of trust in official or institutions.
its getting good now
keep fighting the good fight or u b sorry
How do you know Freddy? Answer the question coward!
