My Take On The Russia - Ukraine War

I know the invasion is underway, but a part of me is still in denial.

This is not what I wanted.

I have been up for almost 22 hours so I will be brief.

Russia will win this military conflict. On that I have no doubt.

Russian intelligence, with the help of many collaborators within the Ukraine government and military, will give the Russian military all the information necessary to attack and wipe out key Ukrainian positions. That has probably already happened.

The Russian air force now own the skies, and their Sukhoi-25s, like the US Air Force's A-10, will make mince meat out of any ground force.

And then there is Russia's artillery. It will be this weapon platform that will determine how long (or quick) this war will last.

I expect heavy fighting on the Donbass front lines. This is where the bulk of Ukraine's top military forces are located, and they will fight.

I am already reading reports that along the northern border of Russia, specifically near Kharkiv where I also have family, the border guards are not fighting. I am not surprised on hearing this. This region is dominated by Russian-Ukrainians, and they have no stomach to engage against advancing Russian armor. I also expect little if any fighting on the streets of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city.

I am reading reports that Russia has landed forces near Odessa. I expect fighting in some parts of this city. But it will end quickly. This is another region that has a large Russian-Ukrainian population.

On a personal note. There was a time when I wanted to buy a house near Odessa on the Black Sea to retire. I had agreed on the price, but in the end it did not happen. It is always strange to reflect on past decisions and wonder where one would be if you had taken a different path.

I do not expect street-to-street fighting in Kyiv. There will be opposition, and a hostile population, but widespread fighting is not going to happen.

Western Ukraine will be Indian country for the Russian military. I can see a lot of fighting and destruction in this part of the country, especially if the Ukrainian leadership decide to fight which I expect some will.

President Zelensky will relocate to Lviv as the fighting approaches Kyiv. From there, he will then flee to the West. I give him a few weeks at best.

I expect tens of thousands of casualties from this war. More if Western Ukraine decides to resort to guerilla warfare.

In the end the human and economic cost will be enormous.

I expect 2 - 3 million refugees. Maybe more. Most will flee the country after the war when they realize that there is no future for them. Or it will take too long to rebuild everything.

This is a war of choice. A choice that President Putin decided to take. But the outcome will be Russia owning a broken and destroyed Ukraine, and being responsible for healing and rebuilding it. I shudder when I think of that.

Russia is now a pariah in the international community. It will be the responsibility of the next Russian leader to repair it. When that happens is something that no one knows.

I am signing off right now. I need sleep. Blogging and my analysis of this war will return when I wake up.

One final note. My 96 year old mother still does not know that Ukraine is being invaded. She grew up in a city 60-70 kilometers West from Moscow, and she has seen it all.

Thank God my father is not alive. He grew up in a city south of Kiev. He also saw it all.

The su 25s will fall to the stingers and the many other manpads, thus is not the cake walk you predict.
You can bet the U.S is provided ukraine with real time satellite targeting data also.

fazman you have been talking shit now about COVID and other stuff for a months or longer. No one wants to hear from you.

Justin Trudeau said he needed emergency powers and two days later he said he didn't need them. If he can get rid of them so soon, it means he didn't need them.

Also the grandma in the mobility scooter, who was tramped by horse was an Indian. She is part of the Mohawk nation. Trudeau's popularity will crater.

By the way perhaps you can actually talk about military stuff , not bullshit .

I've learned a lot from New Zealand. I read up how at age 17 Ardern went straight into politics while in high school into politics. And it shows. A degree in Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) in politics and public relations? Wow. She is a disaster. In the US the CDC is hiding COVID data and they just admitted it. On top of it in the US coroners have been caught counting accident and homicide victims as COVID victims. Follow the money.

COVID has a case fatality rate of .5% in Japan and .9% in the US. Do you, Fazman, get so wee-wee'd-up over a case fatality rate of ,5% that you lockdown and throw a country into recession? Apparently, you do and Putin laughs in you general direction. Putin has troops in crowded military camps in the dead of winter during flu season and he is not worried. the Russians have a lousy vaccine. Putin is still not worried.

The case fatality rate for COVID nose dives below .5% or .9% when you hold constant for obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Politicians and slothful people like you actually increase death rates by keeping people housebound and gaining weight putting them at risk for COVID.

COVID-19 Self-quarantine and Weight Gain Risk Factors in Adults

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown on weight status and factors associated with weight gain among adults in Massachusetts

"Overall increments in BW are an alarming effect of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to potential higher incidence of overweight, obesity and related health-risks as well as other noncommunicable diseases."

Little goose stepping NAZIs such as yourself are causing this

"Surfer fined $1,000 for ignoring coronavirus closure in Manhattan Beach"

When Putin saw the West overreact to COVID in a stupid, cowardly, and venal way of course he made plans to invade.

I can easily tick off or gather from news articles a list of nursing home residents that died of COVID. I cannot do that for grade or middle school. For those middle age, elderly or children, who have died of COVID, I can usually find 3 or 4 co-morbidities.

The fastest way to bring down COVID deaths permanently is not jabs against a mutating virus but nutrition, weight loss and exercise.

But the money and the power are just too good. Follow the Benjamins.

And dickhead, yes you fazman, I have had more vaccines than you ever had. So I know something rather more than you about vaccines and pathogens.

A drongo like you needs to have have a do over and join Bully Madison.

Me a Putin troll? Sure whatever that is why I got an anthrax vaccine. How many people got that? What type of people?

Galah: "the fact that he took rhe[sic or sick!] powers away destroys your argument"

"An actual emergency isn't one that can be ended so quickly or so easily.

What Trudeau actually wanted was to unleash authoritarian powers to shut down a protest that was making him look bad. And once that was done, it was over."

The emergency powers ended due to internal polling that showed numbers going south.

Absolutely 100% disagree with this analysis. WNU, as ever, is reliant on the Russian-Ukrainian sympathetic argument far too much, and does not comprehend the national pride that a lot of Ukrainians are feeling right now.

This will not be an easy war for Russia. In fact, Ukranian have already shown that they are not going to take things lying down.

"I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine, of Ukraine, Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful." - Trump

In the past I have used the word "Wunderbar" in a sarcastic sense.

People try to be efficient with words. It saves energy.

Instead of saying "That is just wonderful; we are fucked", I say "Wunderbar". That sarcasm encapsulates the meaning imported by the aforementioned phrase of 7 words. Being Brief also shows how upset you are. Like when you yell "Fuck" after getting hurt instead of giving a whole sentence or paragraph of why you are unhappy.

If I hit my thumb with a hammer, I will yell "FUCK" Only later will I be more loquacious and explain in a sentence or or more just how much or why it hurts.

Private Hudson: Oh, that's beautiful, man. Oh man, that-that-that just beats it all.

Did private Hudson think getting incinerated was fun, beautiful or groovy? Or did he think it sucked and use beautiful in a sarcastic way?

Has the Yellow Belly sap sucker watched the 1986 film "Aliens"

Snarking ASSHOLES like Anonymous I.M. Poster like to remind us that Trump is of German ancestry. They use the original spelling of Drumpf. Somehow the names of non-English speakers is suppose to be hilarious.

So Trump's grandfather was German. If Friedrich Trump was like a lot of Germans, then exclaiming Wunderbar often means "Fuck, the shit hit the fan isn't that wonderful."

40% of the citizens of the Us have German ancestry. You want to piss off 40% of the people from the start?

From my childhood I know exactly what the word Wunderbar means. I know the tone of voice, too. And when a person become more Americanized Wunderbar becomes wonderful.

Now, sapsucker, if you really feared Putin, you would pull you head out of your ass and quit reading the Washington Compost and the New York Slime.

It's to early tp "know" the outcome of this. What you discuss is likely what US military planners hope to implement. I do understand the part of WNU Editor that is in denial.

You're analysis of what former president Trump meant by his statement is likely spot on. Based upon a careful analysis of his actions I believe he is obviously not pro Putin. It seems to me as though some people who don't properly understand diplpmscy misread this.

Private Hudson: Oh, that's beautiful, man. Oh man, that-that-that just beats it all.

beautiful adjective

beau·ti·ful | \ ˈbyü-ti-fəl \
Definition of beautiful
1: having qualities of beauty : exciting aesthetic pleasure
2: generally pleasing : EXCELLENT

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/beautiful

Now did the character Private Hudson use the word beautiful in the sense of definition (1) or (2) ?

How did Trump use the word Wonderful?

Mr. Snark PhD you are just so lame.

Having been shown up over the English vocabulary that you so assiduously studied as a graduate student in English for or 3 years all you have is another copy and paste from a substack with what ? 2 comments?

"[Putin] sees the weakness and the incompetence and the stupidity of this administration. As an American I am angry about it and saddened by it. And it all happened because of a rigged election. This would’ve never happened. That includes inflation and that includes millions of people pouring in on a monthly basis, far more than three million people, they are coming from 129 different countries. We have no idea what’s happening and they are destroying our country. "

All of it is true.

Trump (JULY 11, 2018):

“When Germany makes a massive oil and gas deal with Russia. We’re supposed to be guarding against Russia and Germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to Russia.

We’re protecting Germany, we’re protecting France, we’re protecting all of these countries. And then numerous of the countries go out and make a pipeline deal with Russia where they’re paying billions of dollars into the coffers of Russia.

So we’re supposed to protect you against Russia and you pay billions of dollars to Russia and I think that’s very inappropriate.

Germany will have almost 70 percent of their country controlled by Russia with natural gas. You tell me, is that appropriate?

Germany is totally controlled by Russia, cause they are getting 60 to 70 percent of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline.

I think these countries have to step it up, not over a 10 year period, they have to step it up immediately. Germany is a rich country, they talk about increasing it a tiny bit by 2030. Well they could increase it immediately, tomorrow, and have no problem.

If you look at it, Germany is a captive of Russia. They got rid of their coal plants, they got rid of their nuclear, they’re getting so much of their oil and gas from Russia. I think it is something NATO has to look at. It is very inappropriate."
