Russian President Putin Puts Nuclear Forces On Highest Alert

Sputnik: Putin Puts Russian Nuclear Deterrence Forces on High Alert Over Aggressive Statements by NATO

The Western alliance promised to "hold Russia" and Belarus "accountable" for the "brutal and wholly unprovoked and unjustified" "invasion" of Ukraine on Friday, warning that Moscow would be made to pay "a severe price" for its actions.

He won't launch against the west. It's a bluff. If he does the USA, Britain & France will launch against Russia. Then it's good night Vienna. If nukes do fly, it'll be due to a mistake by a flawed human or a computer. Keep ducking 🙉

It's not a bluff, its posturing. Strategic posturing. Not surprised he took this step, but it also does not mean he has intent to use them; specifically the fact he said deterrent. Thing is, nobody trusts Putin. Not after what he did.

So this strategic posturing is an escalation.

Another black eye for this guy and one of his own making. I'm considering upgrading his garden tools. First off a much larger shovel seeing that he so likes digging holes.

He is playing brinksmanship. Let's raise him. Have Finland and Sweden join NATO today if he does not go back down to DECON 2.

Have half of our bombers in the air at any one time with nukes.

I like how you're thinking. It can work if our allies have our back. If not, it fails and we're left ho bear the brunt a Russian reprisal alone.

As for Sweden and Finland joining NATO, I think it best to check with them. So far I don't think they want to but just a week ago they wouldn't have even considered it.

The unity in support of Ukraine and opposition to Russia has been amazing. Can it last? I hope so!!

I feel putin has stepped on his pee-pee with his behavior over the years starting with the Crimea seizure.
I am also surprised at the performance of the invading military. These seem like conscript troops and not well trained. The deliveries of US and allied weaponry to Ukrainians will likely put some Russian factory workers on overtime in their armament plants replacing damaged and destroyed gear.
Also thinking China is getting an eyeful about the battle prowess of putin's troops and their equipment.
