FOX News: Elon Musk says Twitter will soon allow users to monetize content, make long-form posts
Musk announces big changes coming to Twitter following acquisition Twitter will soon allow its users to monetize their own content on the platform in addition to making long-form posts beyond the traditional character limit, CEO Elon Musk announced Saturday.
Musk, who took over Twitter in late October, has announced plans for sweeping changes to the company, already firing several top executives. Musk didn't detail how creators would be able to monetize their content, however.
"Twitter will soon add ability to attach long-form text to tweets, ending absurdity of notepad screenshots," Musk wrote Saturday. "Followed by creator monetization for all forms of content," he added.

WNU Editor: I was hoping he would do something like this. By sharing the revenue that Twitter earns with its creators will only guarantee more content and viewers for Twitter. It is a win for everyone. It will also bust the monopoly that Google adsense has on content creation. Another big plus.
But what I really like about this business move by Elon Musk is that sites like WNU will no longer be a slave to Google's search engine algorithm to reach new readers. I am tired of Google's suppression of web sites in its search results that do not conform to its views and biases of the world. There is now an alternative, and I can easily see how Twitter's search engine and its hashtags are going to represent a far more accurate picture on what is trending rather than what Google wants to be trending.
I am keeping my fingers cross, and according to Elon Musk more details will be made public in two weeks.

So Musk fired 1/2 of his staff/ He may have to hire some back, but if Twitter survives without 1/3ed or 1/2 its previous head count, it tells me that there was a lot of feather bedding and a very self satisfied, complacent lot.
Those employees were not adding value.
That Meta has to fire people shows that Musk is doing what is necessary for social media, He is just the 11st one to break the log jam, but it was going to break very soon anyway.
Greenfield predicted that meta was on its way down about 2 or 3 months ago.
Kudos to Elon
Just don’t move WNU to Twitter exclusively. I’m not signing up for yet another social media account.
