FOX News: US, Saudi Arabia on high alert over intel of impending Iranian attack: report

Planned strikes are believed to be targeting Saudi Arabia and Iraq

The United States and Saudi Arabia are on high alert after Saudi intelligence shared with the U.S. indicated that Iran is expected to carry out an attack on targets in Saudi Arabia, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Officials from both countries reportedly told the Journal about the concern over coming attacks. Saudi officials said that in addition to Saudi Arabia, Iran is also looking to strike Erbil, Iraq, where U.S. troops are located.

The planned attacks are said to be intended as a distraction from protests taking place in Iran against the Islamic nation's leadership.

WNU Editor: I follow Iran very closely. I have seen no uptick in military positioning or movement. I would be shocked if Iran does launch strikes against Saudi Arabia.

All that I can say is let us pray that such a conflict does not happen. A major war in the Middle East will mean +$200 for a barrel of oil coupled with widespread shortages and rationing. A collapse in supply chains and the global economy. A severe recession, or more likely a severe depression with massive unemployment and social unrest.

Both countries are applying to join the BRICS. It should be a stabilizing force for the region and welcomed by all.

I have been following this blog for years - excellent work, thank you - and I am frequently stunned at how little reference there is to climate change. If “a collapse in supply chains and the global economy. A severe recession, or more likely a severe depression with massive unemployment and social unrest“ is of concern, why are you covering scuttlebutt about Iran and not the recent science paper re scientists warning about climate change:

This lack of recognition about the massive threat multiplier is almost Trumpian. You should be reporting every major declaration about climate which - defectors - means you ought to be monitoring it. Climate change = war.

Supposing the Iran does attack. Given their unrest at home could they fully engage in war? Would people rally behind the government or use the opportunity to bring it down. I give is 25% to 45% for the former and 55% to 75% for the latter.

Iran would need some serious uprising in the Saudi Eastern provinces succeeding or they are cooked.

Iran hitting Saudi Arabia gives Saudi Arabia a free hand in Yemen. Both Saudi Arabia and Iran have Yemen in the back burner. In Iran's case it is because they are broke. In the Saudi's case it is because the issue is no linger pressing and the advantage is on their side. the Houthis are hurting.

In case of War the Saudi's will roll into Yemen to clear their rear are and to not fight on two fronts for a long time.

5:21

Liberals can be as stupid as 5:21, but I think what we have in 5:21 is trolling.

Several years ago the park rangers took down the Glaciers are disappearing plaques in glacier National Park. It would been embarrassing, if decades later both the plaques and glaciers were still around.

I do not think embarrass is in 5:21's vocab as they troll for mercenary reasons or for shits & giggles.

Another funny thing is Obama has 2 of his 3 mansions on beach front property. How much of a carbon footprint (assprint in his case) must a person have and operate 3 mansions and jet between them?

I don't think the unrest in Iran is on the scale the media would have us believe

Most alternate media I read opine the unrest to topple the government under normal circumstance, but they also opine "Don't hold your breath as these people are willing to commit genocide to hang onto power"
