My Comment: When Hamas was fielding their candidates in the last election, they made it perfectly clear on what their principle objective was ..... A military confrontation with Israel that will result in the eventual destruction of the State of Israel.
Rocket barrages, kidnapping soldiers, using civilians as hields, a shooting war that is occurring everyday .... you have to be a fool not to realize what the consequences were to be if one decided to follow the path of Hamas.
Unfortunately for the Palestinians in Gaza ..... many of them were/are fools who are only now becoming (probably) acutely aware of the consequences of their actions .... but it is too late now.
While many say that it cannot get worse .... I have a different point of view. I personally believe that the situation can easily get worse, and real suffering on the scale of Somalia or Sudan can arise. The end result will be a massive refugee crisis and a total breakdown of law and order. There is no easy solutions as long as organizations such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and God knows what else that resides in the Palestinian communities and their supporters.
