'Modernization Of Russian Army Can't Wait' -- Press TVRussia is to move faster to modernize its military given the 'pressing circumstances', says Russian President Dmitry Medvedev amid increasing signs of US' hostility.
"Modernization of the armed forces” had to take place “much faster because circumstances are pressing us to act this way,” Medvedev noted.
In its most recent defiance of the Russian will, the United States has moved closer to partially stationing its proposed anti-missile tracking radar in the Czech Republic.
The radar together with the 10 interceptor missiles, which await deployment in neighboring Poland, have drawn much opposition from Russia which contests the avowed aim of the plan namely deterring possible attacks on the part of 'countries like Iran and North Korea.'

My Comment: After Georgia, unrest in the Caucasus and other Russian provinces, and the realization that the Russian military is an old and obsolete relic from the Soviet days .... the decision has now been made to boost the military by modernizing it and modeling it into a professional force.
