Obama: Waterboarding Is Torture, We
Will Not Torture -- Gateway Pundit

According to a former intelligence agent, waterboarding of Abu Zubaydah got him to talk in less than 35 seconds. The technique, which critics say is torture, probably disrupted "dozens" of planned al-Qaida attacks and saved hundreds and thousands of lives.

Waterboarding works.

It took Al-Qaeda logistics chief Zayn Abidin Muhammed Hussein Abu Zubaydah 35 seconds to crack.

For weeks in 2002, Zubaydah refused to answer questions and remained “wholly uncooperative.” Interrogators eventually received high-level CIA permission to waterboard Zubaydah, although Kiriakou was not among those who did so. Zubaydah was placed face up on a plank with his head tilted downward. After putting a rag over it, interrogators poured water on his face in a technique that simulated drowning without actually jeopardizing his life. Within just 30 - 35 seconds, Zubaydah’s attitude changed.

But, Barack Obama said today on ABC's "This Week" program that waterboarding is torture and that he is not ruling out prosecution of Bush officials for interrogation crimes. Breitbart reported:

My Comment: Wow. To state publicly that prosecuting intelligence officers and their political masters for their actions during a time of war and/or national disaster (9/11) .... (actions that Congress was informed about and in which nothing was kept secret from any oversight committees) .... puts a cold chill in the minds of those who are authorized to fight and protect America.

President Obama has made it clear. In a hypothetical ticking clock scenario in which torture must be used to obtain info on a WMD attack .... President Obama will clearly not authorize it. Or on a more practical level .... a President Obama would not have authorize the torturing of Abu Zubaydah even though this torture produced information that busted numerous terror cells and plans.

For supporters of President Obama .... you may feel safe with him at the helm. But I do not feel safe at all under this President.
