EL PASO - Mexico is one of two countries that "bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse," according to a report by the U.S. Joint Forces Command on worldwide security threats.
The command's "Joint Operating Environment (JOE 2008)" report, which contains projections of global threats and potential next wars, puts Pakistan on the same level as Mexico. "In terms of worse-case scenarios for the Joint Force and indeed the world, two large and important states bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse: Pakistan and Mexico.

My Comment: I first visited Mexico 25 years ago and had a great time. Took the trouble to learn some of the language, and made a point of going there at least once a year.
No more now.
Violence .... much of it because of the drug culture .... makes it no longer the paradise that it once was. The Mexican Government under Calderon has finally moved against the drug cartels, but they are so interwoven in Mexican life .... it is going to take years and draconian measures to stop them.
