YouTube Becomes WarTube For Israel-Gaza Fight

The Israeli military campaign in the Hamas-led Gaza Strip is already fighting a rear-guard battle on the Internet.

Last week at the start of the war, Israel launched a YouTube channel that is primarily being used so far to showcase its air strikes. (See "Nowhere to Hide" post below for more...)

"The blogosphere and new media are basically a war zone," in the battle for public opinion said Maj. Avital Leibovich, an Israeli military spokeswoman.

The Israeli military site is fast-becoming one of the most viewed YouTube channels around the world.

Along with the YouTube site, the Israeli military has just launched a new blog to feature more information.
