Lockheed, Boeing Eyed For Cuts As Pentagon Redraws Budget Plan
Reductions in Lockheed Martin Corp. F- 35 and Boeing Co. F-18E/F fighters and destroyers made by Northrop Grumman Corp. and General Dynamics Corp. are among the cuts Pentagon officials are mulling as they redraw their fiscal 2010 budget plan.
The White House has given the Pentagon a limit of $527 billion for next year, excluding war spending, according to four defense or government officials. That’s $53 billion less than the proposal the military drafted in November.
A chart prepared Feb. 3 for senior Defense Department officials by program analysts and budget officers outlines about $17.2 billion in possible cuts to the $115 billion allocated for weapons purchases and military construction in the draft.

My Comment: The Pentagon is being told to scramble around for money. The bean counters are now in control.
