Christopher Harkett, 150th British Death In Afghanistan, Had Been There Only A Week

The 150th British soldier to die in the Afghanistan campaign had been in the country for only a week when he was killed on Saturday. Last night the Ministry of Defence said that two more soldiers had been killed.

The pair from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, serving with 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, died in an explosion in the Garmsir district of southern Helmand. They were travelling in a Jackal, an off-road armoured vehicle, at the time. Next of kin have been informed.
