Morgan Tsvangirai Injured And Wife Killed In Car Crash -- The Telegraph

Morgan Tsvangirai's wife Susan has been killed in a car crash which left the Zimbabwean prime minister injured.

Nelson Chamisa, a spokesman for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), said Mr Tsvangirai had been taken to hospital but was not in a critical condition. He was still awaiting details.

Another party source said that Mr Tsvangirai's wife, Susan, was killed.

Mr Tsvangirai was sworn in last month as prime minister in a power-sharing deal meant to end almost a year of deadly stalemate with Robert Mugabe, who remains president.

The unity government has been set up to try to end a political and economic crisis that has brought the once relatively prosperous country to ruin.
