From Yahoo News/AP:

WASHINGTON – From terrorism to the economic meltdown, problems menacing the United States' security and economy also threaten an increasingly interconnected world, President Barack Obama said Saturday.

"In this new century, we live in a world that has grown smaller and more interconnected than at any time in history," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address, taped during his first presidential trip to Europe. "Threats to our nation's security and economy can no longer be kept at bay by oceans or by borders drawn on maps."

My Comment: I read President Obama's speeches ( I do not listen to them), and I am finding them to be continually devoid of followup on what needs to be implemented when these announcements are made.

For example .... he talks about the need to work together .... that the world is interconnected and that cooperation is essential .... but what I see on the ground is the opposite. I see the dumping of the six party talks on North Korea to a "go it alone U.S. policy". Multi-party talks on Iran are now replaced with President Obama making direct appeals to the Iranian Government. In Afghanistan, a surge is announced with no NATO consultation .... followed by a demand for further NATO involvement.

I am not the only one who is beginning to notice this behavioral pattern. European Governments may publicly support his policies in public announcements .... but they do not followup with tangible moves. Europe's announcement on Afghanistan policy is a perfect example of this. They support President Obama, but there will be no tangible increase in troop commitments. If there are commitments .... there will only be for the short duration, focused on training soldiers and providing money.

President Obama has the golden opportunity to now lead .... but it appears that his mind frame is stuck on election mode. Hmmmmm .... the people that he should probably get rid of are these guys.
