Democrats will hold a series of hearings on Justice Department memos released last month that justified rough tactics against detainees, including waterboarding -- simulated drowning -- and sleep deprivation.
The House majority leader reluctantly agreed Tuesday that congressional hearings should investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi's assertion that she wasn't informed, more than six years ago, that harsh interrogation methods were used on an Al-Qaeda leader.
Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called Republican challenges to Pelosi's assertion a diversion from the real question of whether the Bush administration tortured terrorist suspects. Nonetheless, he acknowledged the controversy should be resolved.

Unfortunately America has become a nation that can take the lives of these babies by first degree murder (sometimes taking an hour for the baby to die).Our tax dollars go to support this criminal behavior against our will. Of course it is not against the law because they have made it legal.Obama, Pelosi and the entire bunch of bigots in Washington are as bad as any terroist. No wonder they don't want waterboarding to retrieve truth and information. What terroist does? Yes it is going to get very messy. God help us. If these idiots in Washington want socialism and facisim they are not what America is about. So why don't they just go on over to a socialist contry and become one of their citizens. Run for office in thier country. Do all these horrible things that lead to a dictatorship, but do it outside of America.
