Wave Of Attacks As Obama Aide Assesses Afghanistan Plan -- Yahoo News/AP

KABUL (AFP) – Fresh violence in Afghanistan killed 20 people while three German troops died in an accident Tuesday, authorities said, as the US national security adviser visited to assess a new plan to fight militants.

The multinational NATO-led force in which the German troops serve said they had died in an accident after coming under attack near the northern town of Kunduz.

"They had left the scene and their vehicle was involved in a rollover and they died," ISAF spokesman Lieutenant Commander Chris Hall told AFP.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
