Report: U.S. To Block Iran Sanctions At G8 Summit -- HaaretzThe United States is opposed to enacting a new set of financial sanctions against Iran that are due to be discussed in the G8 summit next week, diplomatic officials in New York reported Friday.
According to officials, sanctions against Iran are expected to top the G8's agenda. Sources are also predicting a pointed debate between the heads of the industrialized nations over an appropriate response to Iranian authorities' suppression of reformist demonstrations in Iran led by Mir Hossein Mousavi and other Iranian opposition leaders.

My Comment: On the eve of July 4th, this bombshell of a story is dropped. This story is all over the Middle East and Europe, but the U.S. press is asleep.
Throughout history, appeasement has never .... I repeat .... it has never worked.
But if this story is true, the White House has made the decision to ignore its allies and pursue this policy with Iran. To be honest, I cannot even fathom what is going through their minds in believing that this strategy will work.
