Well, Blackwater (Xe) is in the news again today. Seems as if they've been loading bombs onto CIA Predators in Afghanistan and Pakistan under contract and the anti-PMC crowd is in a tizzy.

Based on conversations I've had with security contractors from a couple different companies, the CIA gigs -- even the one where they outsourced their al Qaeda hit squads -- is SO nothing new that it must stun even the most ill-informed intel community watcher to see this make such a splash.

First Look At 'Dirty' F-35B -- The DEW Line

This is what the F-35B looks like with a full load of external weapons, including the 25mm gun pod mounted on the belly. Lockheed Martin released this photo today of the BF-3 prototype, which is now in ground vibration testing. Meanwhile, the BF-1 prototype is expected to return to flight after a very long hiatus "at any minute" today, Lockheed says.

QDR: It’s Over, Barring Surprises -- DoD Buzz

The QDR is pretty much finished and the major decisions made by Defense Secretary Robert Gates on April 6 are likely to comprise most of the review’s major decisions.

“It appears to be essentially over:” that’s the judgment of a Pentagon official with detailed knowledge of the review. “There appears to be no appetite for anything bolder than the 6 April decisions,” this source said.
