American Hikers Arrested For 'Illegal Entry' Into Iran 'Were Snatched In Iraq In Cross-Border Raid' -- The Telegraph
Three American tourists arrested for "illegal entry" into Iran were snatched by the regime's agents in Iraq during a cross-border raid that was later covered up by Iraqi authorities, a tribal leader has said.
The US demanded the release of Shane Bauer, 27, Sarah Shourd, 30, and Joshua Fattal, 27, after Iran said its border police had arrested the trio last month. Friends of the missing Americans, who are believed to be in detention in Tehran, said they were arrested after accidentally straying across the mountainous frontier.
A statement from the Kurdish Regional Government after the incident implied that the group had inadvertently crossed the border.

My Comment: This is not the first time that Americans have been held hostage by the Iranians .... nor will it be the last. But the more that is known about this case .... the more that it appears that these naive Americans were targeted for apprehension. The punishment for their naivety will now be prison .... and maybe worse.
