Russian media reports ahead of Chavez's visit said Venezuelawas seeking to buy T-72 and T-90 tanks

CARACAS — Amid rising tensions with neighboring Colombia, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced late Friday that his country would soon take delivery of Russian-made missiles with a range of 300 kilometers (185 miles).
"We have signed some agreements with Russia. Soon we will begin receiving some missiles," Chavez said during a meeting with supporters in front of the presidential palace.

My Comment: This is nothing new from Venezuela. The only difference is that Chavez is now starting to purchase armaments that would be crucial in any first strike and/or invasion. Purchasing missile systems and heavy tanks with the accompanying weaponry is just giving more proof of this intent.
I expect Colombia and Brazil to respond in kind, and I also expect smaller neighboring countries .... like Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname .... to form security alliances that would protect them from any possible Venezuelan aggression or threats.
Chavez's purchase of these systems may make him feel safe .... but what he is now precipitating will make him less safe when other countries start to respond.

The Sentence that uses Chaves. It really is a joke.. he refers that just because U.S sees them signing papers, now they think that soon they'll have russian missiles in Venenzuela.
