My Comment: This news is depressing. I watched the President at his news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Harper admit that the U.S. does not (in Obama speak) have a strategy for Afghanistan. That no decision has been made for U.S. servicemen to go to Afghanistan until clear objectives and reasons are outlined .... a remark which is surprising because Adm. Mullen was very clear yesterday on what are the needs and resources required for Afghanistan.
President Obama looks like a man who understands that the Afghan mess has gone from bad to worse since his inauguration .... and the road path to solve them contains no easy answers or quick fixes. He is looking for alternative recommendations/solutions .... but he also does not want to abdicate the position that he has taken on Afghanistan since last year's election.
No wonder his hair is turning grey.
