I have been following this story for the past 6 months, and I have been consistently pointing out that by canceling the program there will be consequences from Eastern Europe. I can only guess that President Obama has made the calculation that by breaking our agreements and deserting our allies is more politically useful for him and the U.S. than by keeping them.
