Isreal 'Told Russia It Won't Launch Attack On Iran' -- The Telegraph

Israel told Russia it would not launch an attack on Iran, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said, in which he described such an attack as "the worst thing that can be imagined."

Mr Medvedev said his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres made the pledge at a meeting in August. After the meeting Mr Peres said Medvedev had promised to reconsider the sale to Iran of S-300 anti-aircraft systems that would complicate an Israeli attack.

Israel has hinted it could forcibly deny Iran the means to make an atomic bomb if Tehran continues to refuse to suspend uranium enrichment it claims is for peaceful purposes.

My Comment: Debka's analysis of what Medvedev said is right. They have been told that Israel will not launch a strike against Iran .... but they are not 100% sure.

From my vantage point, I find it hard to believe that Israel can successfully launch a strike against Iran. The distances involved are far, Iranian defenses are formidable (to a point), and countries in the region have made it very clear that they do not want Israeli jets flying over their territory.

Add to this mix threats from people like well known Obama supporter and Democrat military/intelligence adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski that Obama should order the shooting down of Israeli jets if they fly over American controlled Iraqi airspace .... options for Israel are rapidly becoming very limited.
