TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran wants major amendments within the framework of a U.N. nuclear fuel deal which it says it broadly accepts, a move that could unravel the plan and expose Tehran to the threat of harsher sanctions.

My Comment: I am very skeptical that a deal will be reached. Iran's spiritual leaders have themselves made it very clear that they are not going to bend on any compromise .... and I do not see any reason why I should not accept them at their word.
On the flip side .... this is the optimist in me talking .... we are now closer to an agreement than ever before. The other countries (i.e. EU, Russia, and China) are now boxed into a situation in which if Iran should not come to an agreement, sanctions that these countries must follow will be imposed.
These sanctions .... if enforced .... will have an impact, and will force Iran to find an accommodation. But for the moment, the "dog and pony" show continues.
