O.C. Might Get Look At Futuristic Warship -- OC Register

The Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station (SBNWS) may get a visit in the coming months from the USS Freedom, a new high-speed warship that represents quite a technological departure for the Navy. The Pentagon has decided to deploy Freedom in 2010 instead of 2012 because the so-called Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), which can operate in shallow water with a crew of less than 50, is needed by the fleet. Freedom is currently homeported in San Diego, which sends most, but not all, of its warships to Seal Beach for ordnance.

My Comment: It may be small .... but this is still one pricey ship.
