Update: ASEAN Plus Three strive to prepare regional reserve pool for kick-off -- China View

My Comment: What was perceived as a remote idea 10 years ago is rapidly becoming a reality today .... an Asian economic union among the major Asian economic powers and smaller states. The ultimate goal from this union will probably be the following .... and taking a few decades to get there .... the development of a NATO type of military alliance followed by some form of political union .... a process that we can say is only happening now.

Is Asia rising .... looking at it from the outside, I will have to say yes.

Eh, I dunno about this one Brookyards. I think there are simply too many entrenched interests against it. The Indians, Chinese, and Americans will balk at this type of program. The Japanese are rather attached to the Yen, and I am not sure they want to try and hold up Philippines or Indonesia - much less spilling blood and treasure fighting terrorists in Celebi or Patawan twenty years down the line.
