It Appears That Russia Is Years Behind UAV Technology

The Russian Air Force considers the unmanned aerial vehicles offered by domestic manufacturers to be inferior in quality, the force commander said on Thursday.

Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin said the Russian-made UAVs delivered to the Air Force failed to meet the required specifications.

"To put such drones into service is simply a crime," he said.

"I am, therefore, refusing to sign any acceptance papers."

My Comment: I wish we had this Russian General responsible for our procurement projects. I am sure that his comments on Russian UAV manufacturers can be applied to an entire list of U.S. Defense contractors who have a less than stellar track record in delivering projects in time and under budget.
