Snipers, Dogs And Small Army To Keep City Secure During 9/11 Terrorists Trial Blocks From WTC Site -- New York Daily News

Security will be at an all-time high for the trial of five accused 9/11 terrorists - just a few blocks and eight years away from the lost twin towers of the World Trade Center.

My Comment: This is going to be a circus. New York City is the media capital of the world .... and they will now have the greatest show that they can dream of .... and it is going to last for years.

Personally .... I am conflicted on having these terrorists tried in a civilian court (and in New York City to boot). On the one hand, this public trial will disclose all the bungling, stupidity, and incompetence of our intelligence services, law enforcement, and political class in not being able to stop 9/11. I expect heads to roll, politicians to become unelectable, and laws and policies to change.

But on the other hand, this circus on the street can be transported into the courtroom. The proceedings will be confused and contradictory. Many 9/11 families who are against a civilian trial may become more distressed as these proceedings continue. Valuable intelligence may become disclosed. No resolution or justice can become the result.

Either way .... the next few years are going to be interesting.
