Another Reason Why Cyber Security Is Becoming More Important For The U.S. Military

Intercepted Drone Video Points To Importance Of Cyber Security -- Christian Science Monitor

Using common software, Iraqi insurgents intercepted video feeds transmitted by US drone aircraft. It's not an important security breach, officials say, but it does draw attention to the importance of cyber security in increasingly high-tech wars.

The US military is at the beginning of the era in which the cyber security of its weapon systems will be increasingly important, and under constant threat.

That’s one of the lessons that might be drawn from revelations that Iraqi insurgents have intercepted video feeds transmitted by US drone aircraft, using software and hardware available to virtually any technically-adept teenager in the world.

My Comment: It all comes down to encryption. How can you encrypt your data so that the other side cannot read it. My prediction .... computer encryption is going to be more important in the years to come as these data links and communication grids evolve to a point in which all communication must be 100% secured from being hacked and/or having its communications intercepted.
