The White House knocked down a report Wednesday that it threatened to close an Air Force base in Nebraska if that state's senator didn't cast what could be the crucial 60th vote needed to pass a health care bill in the Senate.

My Comment: This story has been denied by the White House, but a number of Republcian Senators are still wanting some answers.

As for Sen. Ben Nelson (D., Neb.) who is at the center of this storm, he has made the following remark .... My Vote is Not for Sale’.

Hmmmm .... not a ringing endorsement of the White House denial that this story is false. I am sure that he will (cough cough) clarify everything by tomorrow.
