My Comment: The Democrats (playing to their base) exploited the issue of National Security throughout President Bush's term .... constantly ridiculing him as Commander in Chief, calling Generals like Petraeus a liar, and claiming that facilities like Guantanamo only inflame worldwide terrorism.

Now that they are in power .... their election slogans and promises are now catching up to them in a world that operates very differently, and the Republicans are now exploiting the issue of National Security and playing up to their base.

I mentioned on many occasions at the beginning of this year that if a major terrorism strike should occur on US soil during President Obama's watch .... the political fallout will be devastating to both him and to Democrats in general. Considering what happened this past Christmas .... the passengers on Flight 253 were not the only ones who were very lucky.
