Haiti Earthquake: Race To Provide Aid As 100,000 Feared Dead -- The Telegraph

Fears are growing for thousands of people who survived the earthquake that flattened most of Port-au-prince, the Haitian capital, but are now without food, clean water and proper medical care. Sixteen Britons are missing in the country.

The US is planning a massive military response to the disaster, saying that ships, helicopters, transport planes and a 2,000-member Marine unit are either on the way or likely to begin moving soon. But their arrival may be too late for thousands of Port-au-Prince residents.

It is estimated that between 50,000 to 100,000 people died in the quake, but Haitian senator Youri Latortue said the final figure could reach half a million.

We have an orphanage in Port-au-Prince that needs your help, www.choaids.org or search facebook and join CHOAIDS, the children and caretakers survived, but we don't know about the orphanage yet. Send your prayers to the children.
