WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A major review of Pentagon programs focuses on the U.S. military's commitment to winning the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and reforming how it buys weapons, according to a draft summary obtained by Reuters.
The Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), a congressionally mandated review of Pentagon strategy and priorities every four years, will be released with the Obama administration's defense budget request on February 1.
Executives at the biggest U.S. defense companies -- Lockheed Martin Corp, Boeing Co, Northrop Grumman Corp and General Dynamics Corp -- are eagerly awaiting the QDR and the fiscal 2011 budget.

My Comment: I will be very surprise if all of the above goals in the draft Pentagon review will ever be reached and/or implemented. Instead .... I would not be surprised if the focus will be on cutting military programs, and the consequences be damned.
