Science Daily (Jan. 12, 2010) — Researchers at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln have addressed the issue of faulty software by developing an algorithm and open source tool that is 300 times faster at generating tests and also reduces current software testing time.
The new algorithm has potential to increase the efficiency of the software testing process across systems.

My Comment: An interesting question .... how big a deal are software problems in battlefield conditions and war zones. My gut tells me that the answer is probably a closely guarded secret.
As the Air Force becomes more dependent on technology to gain that extra edge, any improvements in software will impact the battlefield.

As any programmer knows; garbage in = garbage out. Software is still software and is build on certain assumptions supported by math/physics. Assumptions are made by man, and man is known to make mistakes.
