War Hero's Secret Revealed 4 Decades Later -- King5.com

SEATTLE - He flew top secret missions that were literally faster than a speeding bullet, but for more than 40 years he has harbored a quiet secret surrounding a near catastrophe at more than 70,000 feet.

David Dempster remembers the thrill of piercing the skies in the cockpit of a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. The jet flies at upwards of 2,100 mph, 15 miles high in the sky. To this day it's still the fastest plane on the planet.
