Should President Obama Be Praised For His Counter-Terrorism Approach?

President Obama Praised for Sticking to American Values on Counter-Terrorism -- Voice Of America

Security experts want US to better anticipate terrorist attacks.

As President Obama completes his first year in office, security experts give him high marks for sticking to American values and trying to win the hearts of Muslims while taking steps to avert terrorist attacks. But they also say the U.S. must not wait to fix a weakness until after it is exposed by an attack.

"While passions and politics can often obscure the hard work before us, let's be clear about what this moment demands, we are at war," President Obama said.

My Comment: I love the list of "security experts" that the Voice of America parades to justify their position that President Obama is being "praised for sticking to American values on counter-terrorism".

Let us see ....

The Aspen Institute, though they say that they are non-partisan, they are a liberal policy shop with ties to the Obama administration.

Jacob Shapiro at Princeton University .... a heavy contributor to the Obama election.

Paul Pillar at Georgetown University .... Michelle Malkin and others have outed him and his loyalties to the Democrat Party.

Michael German of the American Civil Liberties Union .... well .... we all know where the ACLU stands.

So .... VOA gathers a number of academics/experts with ties to the Obama Administration, and feed on each of their comments to justify the position that President Obama is receiving praise from "security experts".

Sighhhh ....

VOA can do a better job than this.

On a personal note .... I was never a fan of President Bush's approach towards fighting Al Qaeda, and I am also not a fan of President Obama's approach. But you go to war with what you have, and what we have is President Obama and his team. They did received a resounding mandate from the American people in last year's election, and they have the right to pursue the policy that they believe is the right one for America.

My only concern is that my worse fears do not become reality .... an event that I hope to God does not happen and that I am proven wrong on every account.
