This from the US Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Gary Roughead, at the commissioning of the latest littoral combat ship (LCS) USS Independence via Reuters:

If he had more of the new ships — which carry manned and unmanned helicopters — already available, they would be deployed like a “swarm of bees” around Haiti, Roughead said.

My Comment: Kudos to New Wars for the quote. As to US Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Gary Roughead remark .... he is right .... but with budget cuts and fiscal pressures foreseen to be the future for the US Government's and its spending plans, even a 300 ship Navy may be too expensive of a proposition to entertain and maintain.
