My Comment: This story reminds me of my father. When he was on the Russian front during the Second World War he and a number of his fellow Russian soldiers took the time to learn other languages (German, Polish, English, etc...), and read up on other fields of study (mathematics and architecture was my father's favorite).
These Somali students (and the teachers who teach them) are to be commended .... and they will be the ones who will ultimately rule Somalia when their wars and conflicts ultimately come to an end.
