Pakistan Confirms Top Taliban Arrest -- BBC

The Pakistani government has now confirmed that a senior Afghan Taliban commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, was captured last week in Karachi.

The Pakistani foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, described the arrest as important.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is one of four men who founded the Taliban movement in Afghanistan in 1994 and is said to be second in command to the Taliban's spiritual leader Mullah Omar.
