Why A Lack Of Medal Of Honor Recipients

No Shortage Of Medal of Honor Actions, But Shortage Of Recipients -- Blackfive

While the requirements for awarding the Medal of Honor are high - and should not be lowered - very few of our nation's highest decoration for valor have been awarded in recent years.

While our tactics have adapted to fit the current enemy and battlefield and also due to our advanced technology and systems (think air strikes versus bayonet charges), that is not to say that actions worthy of The Medal have not taken place.

My Comment: The U.S. is not the only country that is having this debate .... England is also limiting its medal awards.
