Congress Wants To Control Spread Of Drone Technology -- All Headline News

Washington, D.C., United States (AHN) - Congress is trying to figure out how to manage the proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicle technology that has become one of the U.S. military’s most effective weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now the same technology is spreading to unmanned vacuum cleaners, crop dusters and other equipment, but raising questions about the risks of unauthorized use.

“As this technology develops and becomes more commercially available, we must implement adequate measures to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands,” said Rep. John F. Tierney (D-Mass.).

My Comment:
I am sure that much of the electronics on a reaper or predator drone is "classified", but I am surprised that it has taken them this long to maybe .... just maybe .... it would be a good idea to regulate what is being exported.

But while Congress wants to regulate this technology, Secretary of Defense Gates wants to export it to our allies.
