White House Orders US Flag To Be Pulled Down In Haiti

Flap Flies In Haiti Over U.S. Flag Absence -- Navy Times

The many nations helping Haiti recover from the devastating earthquake that struck there have set up their own military compounds and fly their flags at the entrances.

France's tricolor, Britain's Union Jack and even Croatia's coat of arms flap in the breeze.

But the country whose contributions dwarf the rest of the world's — the United States — has no flag at its main installation near the Port-au-Prince airport.

My Comment: Many in the blogging community are upset with these orders. What is my take .... the Haitian Prime Minister's remarks were disrespectful and inconsiderate on the US aid effort in his country. He should have just kept his mouth shut .... but no .... his ego demanded that he say something. As for the orders from the White House .... they did not want to cause a scene .... hence the order for the flag to be pulled down was given. Does this make everyone look bad .... well duh!!!
