US Military Option Against Iran Still On Table: Pentagon -- AFP

My Comment: The above story completely contradicts what was said yesterday .... US official: Iran military strike 'off the table'.

Are people going off message .... from what I am reading I am getting the strong impression that there is a lack of leadership and direction on what is our policy on Iran .... hence these contradictory statements.

But if I feel like this, I can only imagine the mental gymnastics that Israel and our Middle Eastern allies must be going through while trying to determine what is the U.S. policy on Iran's nuclear program. To say that they must be nervous is an understatement.

What we have, then, are two different people from the Pentagon making announcements that perhaps they ought not be allowed to make, since they do not give the world our position with any authority. In fact, the articles, when read, suggest that Obama and Bush both believed in diplomacy.
Clearly, even if you don't really believe in invasion etc there is no useful purpose served by announcing that this or that is "off the table."
Fret not.
