U.S. Senate Demands Documents On The Fort Hood Shooter


Senators Chastise Pentagon, Subpoena Fort Hood Documents -- Christian Science Monitor

The two senators leading Congress's Fort Hood investigation on Monday subpoenaed the Obama administration for documents and witnesses that the Pentagon has refused to provide.

Two senior senators have issued subpoenas against the Pentagon and the Department of Justice for their refusal to hand over all the documents and witnesses Congress wants in its investigation into the shooting at Fort Hood in November.

Sens. Joe Lieberman (I) of Connecticut and Susan Collins (R) of Maine said Monday they had no choice but to serve the subpoenas after concluding the Obama administration was unwilling to cooperate.

The subpoena marks a rare flash point between investigators in the Democratically controlled Congress and President Obama's administration.
