The Pentagon has for years allowed the world an occasional peek through its keyhole as U.S. aircraft generated video while bombing their targets. My Comment: I remember that day very well. That day was a bloody day throughout Iraq and it appeared to many (including this blogger) that Iraq was slowly descending into civil war. The ambush of a US patrol and the disabling of a US vehicle laden with weapons and ammunition is what brought the US gunships into the area .... the rest (as the above video depicts) is now history.

Update: Captain's Journal observes and reminds us that these Reuters journalists were embedded with insurgents. Not U.S. troops, but insurgents.
