Air Travel Chaos Spreads And Deepens Into Weekend -- New York Times

PARIS — As a cloud of ash from a volcano in Iceland moved eastward across Northern Europe, massive transportation gridlock continued Saturday and left weary travelers in an anxious limbo.

Scientists were uncertain when the cloud would dissipate though one Icelandic geologist, Magnus Tumi Gudmundsson of the University of Iceland, told The Associated Press on Saturday that activity was increasing at the volcano.
