Oil Rig Sinks After Massive Explosion; 11 Workers Still Missing -- New York Daily News

An oil rig that exploded off the Louisiana coast has sunk, leaving little hope that 11 missing workers would be found alive.

Coast Guard officials said they were still searching for survivors Thursday even though the rig sank just after 10 a.m. local time.

About 100 workers were able to escape the inferno by boarding a supply boat after the rig exploded Tuesday night. They were reunited with their families after they came ashore in Port Fourchon, La.
