Afghanistan's Kandahar Military Base Under Attack -- Reuters
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 22 (Reuters) - Suspected militants fired rockets at Kandahar airfield in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, followed by a ground attack, NATO and Afghan officials said.
"Kandahar airfield came under indirect fire at approximately 8 o'clock tonight and shortly afterward a ground attack was under way as well," a spokesman for NATO-led forces in Afghanistan said.

My Comment: There are thousands of allied troops in the area .... this is nothing more but a suicide attack by the Taliban. But it is also a message that after the Bagram attack a few days ago, the Taliban can now strike anywhere.
