Publication Of Bloody Sunday Report Stokes Fears Of Bomb Attack -- Times Online

Security and political tensions are rising sharply before tomorrow’s long-awaited report into the fatal shooting of 13 protesters by British troops on Bloody Sunday in January 1972.

The police are mounting a big security operation around Londonderry amid fears of a bombing by dissident republicans. Commander Chris Yates, a senior officer, described the threat as severe. He said there had been 16 pipe blasts in the area this year, up from 15 in the whole of 2009.
